About Myself

My teaching methods are very tactile, kinesthetic, and visual. I draft handwritten summaries and notes every lesson to fill up gaps in knowledge, and I use tools such as molecular models, or everyday items, to give visual analogies. Teaching grounded in reality helps to stick landing points. I tend not to teach from a position of superiority or authority, but as a friend. I do not expect students to use honorifics such as "mister". For less motivated students, I take out my notepad to do the question together with them (not spoon-feeding, but sometimes like a mini-race), and take mistakes lightly. My lessons can be very fluid and take on multiple subjects at once. My schedule is fluid too, and can usually accommodate shifts in lessons if the students have CCAs, extra-lessons if urgent, or cancellations if the student is unwell or requires a break (I'm a proponent of mental health, and that breaks help students study better - a tired student cannot efficiently take in knowledge). I have taken students from ACSi, SOTA, RVHS, Clementi Town Sec, Nan Hua High, SJI, MGS, etc. I do provide free extra coaching outside tutoring hours: My students also have access to my whatsapp number (parents can create a group chat with me and the student if they have concerns or they want to monitor progress) from 6am to 10pm, and they can screenshot/take a picture of any question and send them to my contact, even on off-days. I can often answer them within an hour unless otherwise specified, latest within a day.
