About Myself
A patient and methodical mentor, to me, understanding students' weaknesses and then applying the right teaching methods are my key strengths that have served me well. Previous and current students have produced excellent results consistently. I aim to help students find the joy of learning. They will aspire to give their best and excel academically. I can provide in-depth examination revision tips and methods because I believe that content mastery and exam strategies go hand-in-hand. I also utilise mind-maps to explain and classify things for easier memorization; identifying and correcting students' misconceptions and assumptions, understanding what students are confused about, helping them to see where they have gone wrong and in what circumstances will their wrong answers be correct.
My Experience
Current English and Math teacher at Cedar Primary taking P6 classes. Experienced PSLE paper 1 & 2 marker and examiner for Oral assessment. I am trained in the latest PSLE format and curriculum. Trained in stretching learning for high ability students as well as dyslexic remediation. With more than 12 years of teaching experience, I am able to identify the 'gaps' in the students' understanding and enhance their learning effectively. Being a teacher has also empowered me with the necessary skills and, more importantly, the fundamental pedagogical knowledge to ensure that each student has a unique, tailored approach to maximise their learning.
