About Myself
My kids usually see an improvement by 2-3 grades in half a year. My teaching method focuses on getting the students to understand the concept/reasoning, essay techniques and critical thinking portions. Instead of purely memorising (which can be risky in the O level high pressure scenario). I also like to make the lessons more interactive and interesting, with different teaching styles depending on the students. I employ methods that will cater to each of their attention spans so that the time during tuition is maximized effectively. I am conscientious and will explain to my students and guide them in the various mathematical concepts and formulae in order for them to understand and do well in the O levels. Practice questions will be given and drills will be conducted to get them doing revision exam-smart and prepared
My Experience
I have 14 years of teaching experience up to date in secondary school Combined Humanities. I’ve been told by the students I’ve helped that I was able to build a solid foundation for them in these subjects by helping them understand basic and advanced concepts and how to apply what they have learnt. When I teach, I like to make sure my students understand the basic concepts first before moving on to problem sets. I do so by breaking down difficult concepts into simple ones, step-by-step in a logical fashion. If they can understand the basics, they will be able to solve any problem given to them. Once I know their foundation is strong, I test their ability to use their knowledge to solve several problems of increasing difficulty.
