I’ve been passionate about teaching since 2007, when I began offering private tuition. In 2014, I became a registered instructor with the Ministry of Education (MOE), where I’ve had the exciting opportunity to teach robotics and coding in schools. Since 2018, I’ve continued to expand my teaching journey by working at a tuition centre, where I enjoy connecting with students of diverse backgrounds and helping them grow in confidence and ability. Over the years, I have supported a diverse range of students in both E-Maths, A-Maths and JC maths - from those in Integrated Programme (IP) schools to students from neighbourhood schools. For high-ability learners, I create carefully tailored, challenging tasks that encourage critical thinking and push them to reach their fullest academic potential. For students who struggle with the subject, I focus on building a strong conceptual foundation and gradually reinforcing their understanding through consistent practice and encouragement. Many of these students show remarkable progress—such as some who improved from an E8 to a B3 within a year through regular lessons. I’ve also worked with a student from the School of Science and Technology who moved from failing to scoring 80% in Secondary 2 Maths. Witnessing such growth in my students is one of the most rewarding aspects of my teaching journey.
I also specialise in conducting intensive crash courses that empower students to make significant improvements in a short time. One of my most fulfilling experiences was working with a Year 4 student from Raffles Girls’ School who was feeling discouraged after scoring just 38% in A-Maths. With two months of focused, personalised coaching, she not only rebuilt her confidence but also improved her score to 67%. Moments like these reaffirm my belief that with the right support and mindset, every student can turn their setbacks into success. These experiences continue to remind me that with the right support, encouragement, and tailored instruction, every student can rise above their circumstances and succeed beyond expectations.
