About Myself
I am an experienced English and Chinese tutor teaching students at primary and secondary school levels in Singapore, working with learners aged 7 to 17. I specialise in preparing students for major examinations including PSLE, O-Levels, IGCSE, AEIS, CEQ, as well as international school curricula. I have taught at Pantheon Education learning centre and also provide private one-to-one tuition. In addition, I am well-versed in online teaching and have successfully conducted lessons via Zoom, Google Meet, and VooV. My students have achieved strong results, including passing AEIS examinations, improving from failing grades to B3, and demonstrating clear progress in both academic performance and learning aptitude. I hold a Master’s degree in Business Management from the University of the Arts London. I design and prepare my own lesson materials, carefully tailored to each student’s individual needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. My teaching approach is highly personalised, focusing on building confidence, reinforcing foundations, and strategically targeting weaknesses while leveraging students’ strengths. I am extremely patient and understanding, and I place strong emphasis on students’ wellbeing, motivation, and learning attitude. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable, engaged, and motivated to achieve their best.
My Experience
I specialise in teaching English to foreign students, with extensive experience preparing students for the academic and linguistic demands of these programmes. I have successfully helped students pass the rigorous examination, guiding them through intensive preparation in English language skills, exam techniques, and question analysis. I am particularly experienced in working with mainland Chinese students who have come to Singapore to pursue their studies, and I understand the common challenges they face when transitioning into the local education system. For AEIS students, I focus on strengthening foundational English, comprehension skills, structured writing, vocabulary development, and time management under exam conditions. My lessons are carefully scaffolded to build confidence while ensuring students are fully prepared for the exam format and expectations. Many of my students have gone on to pass AEIS and successfully enter Singapore schools. In addition, I am well-versed in teaching PSLE and O'level English to students in Singapore. I support students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, with particular emphasis on clear expression, critical thinking, and exam readiness. My approach is personalised and results-driven, ensuring lessons are tailored to each student’s proficiency level, learning style, and academic goals. I am patient, supportive, and highly attentive to students’ wellbeing and motivation, creating a positive learning environment that encourages steady progress and long-term improvement.
