About Myself
PhD holder in Biology from NUS, and I majored in life sciences from NUS (Honours with Distinction) for my undergraduate studies. I achieved an A for both H2 and H3 Biology at Raffles Institution. My passion is in Biology, and am well-equipped with materials and resources for my students to help them ace their IB exams. I have been teaching Biology and Chemistry to IGCSE, IB Diploma students for over 12 years. I emphasized on important concepts for each topic to enable my students be competent in Biology and Chemistry. I design differentiated teaching resources and assignments to help understand and appreciate the assessment criteria. My students were from schools such as SAIS, UWCSEA, SOTA, OFS, ACSI, HCIS, SJI, NLCS, CIS, etc On average, the amount I spend with each tutee before the final exams is 6-9 months. Within the 6 months, those who were on the weaker side would almost all improve by 2 grades (estimatedly close to 20 marks) largely through the rebuilding of their understanding through the reinforcing of their basic concepts. The stronger students would improve by close to a grade by training their stress resilience and time management.
My Experience
More than 12 years of tutoring experience as a Biology and Chemistry tuition teacher to a number of IB & JC students who achieved 2 grade levels of improvement, and also have had extensive experience teaching undergraduate-level biology at NTU for 5 years as a teaching assistant. I also have >10 years of experience teaching and training International Biology Olympiad students for the Singapore national team.
