About Myself

I am dedicated to working with your child to reach his/her full potential. To do that, I believe in building up your child's foundation and stretching your child's mind by using a variety of methods and catering to your child's interest. Hence, I am very familiar with the curriculum and exam syllabi for both streams as well as the structure of exam papers. Over the years, many of my students have achieved distinctions and a few students in particular managed to improve from a fail/subpass grade to a 6/7 for the IB exams.

My Experience

Current teacher at ACSi teaching IB English and Literature, served previously as the the Deputy Dean and currently am the HOD for english & literature. Currently teaching IB Year 5 and 6 classes and rotate yearly between both levels. I am an IB examiner and mark paper 2 as well as assess the individual oral component in the IB exams. Have been giving tuition privately as well over 20 years. Students were from ACSII, SJI, HCIS, SOTA, UWCSEA, OFS, SAIS etc. Many of my students went on to top colleges both in Singapore & overseas (UK/US)

About Myself

Can explain Geography concepts clearly and succinctly. Have own notes and test papers. Help students observe common trends that can be used repeatedly in both subjects. In teaching the students the topics and subjects at hand, I always make sure that they understand the concept and are test that they are equipped with the knowledge and theory when I ask them to explain it to me. After which, I pay much attention to practice questions especially, such that the concepts and methods can be constantly applied to their practice questions, honing these basics and foundations to the sharpest.

I specialise in Geography for Secondary students, and have also tutored students for English over the years. 4 years of tutoring experience and have been tutoring ADHD + Autism students for the past 3 years as well. I am familiar with the O & N level exam format & syllabus, having previously taught several graduating students previously. 90% of my students improve by at least 2-3 grades after 6 months of my tutelage. I provide my own materials, including notes, assessment books and past year papers. I am a full time tutor currently. Hence, I will be able to commit to a broad range of timings.

About Myself

I worked as a teaching intern as part of the MOE Internship Programme. I have experience in creating resources, planning lesson, conducting lessons, and marking. I worked as a teaching intern as well at Commonwealth Secondary School as part of MOE's Teaching Internship Programme and had experience in lesson planning, conducting classes, marking, and preparing resources.

My Experience

3 years of tutoring experience, covering Geography for secondary and JC levels. I did well in the subject and am a strong writer and good at coaching answering techniques for my students. In HCI, I've consistently been amongst the top students in my class and also attained straight As at the A levels. I am able to provide my own notes and curated materials which helped me in my A level examination revision and preparation which were very useful in helping me to achieve an A for my A level geography exams I specialise in Secondary and JC level Geography for both IP and A level students. For my recent tutoring experiences, I took two geography students for IP/A level Geog. Both students have consistently been achieving good results.

About Myself

Hi! I am an undergraduate student specialising in biology. Taking life sciences as a major in NUS, I have had the opportunity to study A level concepts at a deeper level and have a better idea of the underlying concepts. While much of it is beyond the scope of the A levels, I believe that it gives me a better idea of how to tackle A level questions and give more refined answers. Hopefully my passion for biology will diffuse to my students and give them the drive to learn a very misunderstood subject!

My Experience

I worked as a in the Young Educators in Science (YES) programme run by NUS. The programme involves facilitating university-level science experiments for students of all levels, and requires the facilitators to explain high level concepts to students with little to no prior knowledge. Through this programme, I learnt a lot about focussing on the important information to touch on to bridge the gaps in the students I am teaching, a concept that is very important for A level subjects with a large degree of depth. Having been trained as an educator in the Mendaki Tutor Scheme, I have attended organisation-run courses such as "Ethics of Care" and "Classroom Management and its impact on Teaching and Learning", which have equipped me with the necessary skills to create a conducive learning environment for the benefit of both my students and I.

My Results

For O levels, I attained an A1 for English, Combined Humanities, A Maths, E Maths, Biology and a A2 for Chemistry and Physics. For A levels, I attained As for H2 Biology, H2 Chemistry and H2 Mathematics and Cs for GP and H1 Economics.

About Myself
