Nanyang Academics specializes in MOE-trained school teachers. They consist of,
1) Teachers who are currently teaching in government schools AND 2) Ex-teachers who have left MOE to give home tuition full time.
They are all however, certified by the National Institute of Education, where they receive training for primary, secondary and junior college levels and graduate with a Diploma in Education. All of them have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a government school. This category of tutors is the most familiar with con-current MOE curriculum and they are professional educators trained to deliver a highly effective learning experience – we highly recommend them.
We also provide tutors who have graduated with the minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, although it is also common to have tutors equipped with postgraduate degrees such as Master’s or Doctorate (PhD). They are highly qualified and give home tuition on either a full time or part time basis.

Commitment level varies between both sub-categories, with full time graduates providing a higher level of scheduling flexibility and long-term commitment. Many of the tutors in this category started giving home tuition in their undergraduate days, hence garnering close to 4-5 years of experience at the minimum.
Full time tutors are graduates who have completed their studies. They possess minimally a Bachelor’s degree but many hold a Master’s degree or a Doctorate too! Being a career tutor, you will find that their commitment levels are high and they typically possess anywhere between 5-30 years of tutoring experience. This makes them highly desirable for parents looking for a dedicated tutor who has many years of teaching experience in the industry and knows the curriculum well.
In addition, this group of tutors are the most diverse in terms of their subjects and fields tutored. Some certains can be in the fields of Arts, Law, Business, Information Technology, Languages, Music, Advanced Placement and SAT exams, AEIS, etc.
They are also able to teach students who are doing their diploma and degree studies as well as sitting for overseas college examinations.
Undergraduates are the youngest category of tutors you can find! They are students currently pursuing their tertiary education at one of the Universities and are giving tuition on a part time basis. As a result, they are likely to establish a stronger rapport with your child due to the smaller age-gap. They often provide a source of role-modeling which imbues in students the motivation to study hard and achieve academic excellence
