About Myself
• Taught Geography to students and have instilled in them a love for the subject even though they may have resisted at first. Good at making difficult concepts simple to understand at laymen level. Recent student I had was prepared for her NA Geography O Levels. • In my educational years, I studied Geography since secondary school. I was in the Humanities Program with Nanyang Girls High School, and obtained 1st position in my cohort for Advanced Geography in my upper secondary school years. I continued taking Advanced Geography (H2, H3 Geography -- A and Distinction respectively) in Hwa Chong Junior College. And graduated with a degree (BSc.) in Environmental Earth Systems Science from Nanyang Technological University. Additional Information - Created own H2-H3 geography geography materials; and compiled my own IP program geography notes too (all in textbook PDF form) - Mentor for youths in non-academic arena (e.g. facilitator for secondary school camps around topics on social impacts) - Believe in big picture learning to help students appreciate and understand the relevance of subjects to their lives, so they will develop their own will to learn and study too. Hope to help students connect knowledge and learning with real life and the world so they do not just see it as an abstract knowledge that is forced fed to them.
