About Myself
I have been tutoring for 3 years now after my A levels, and currently I am a Political Science major at NUS in my 3rd year. I am a patient, encouraging and dedicated English tutor who believes that every student can excel with the right guidance and strategies. As a Political Science graduate, I have developed strong analytical thinking, critical reading and effective communication skills, which form the foundation of my teaching approach. I help students go beyond memorisation by developing their ability to analyse texts, organise ideas logically and express themselves confidently in both writing and oral communication. Every lesson is tailored to each student's learning needs and pace, with a strong focus on building confidence while equipping them with the skills required to perform well in school and national examinations.
My Experience
I specialise in Secondary English and have successfully guided students preparing for the GCE O-Level and N-Level examinations. My lessons focus on strengthening the core components of the English syllabus, including comprehension, essay writing, situational writing, grammar, vocabulary and oral communication. Over the years, I have worked with students of varying abilities, helping them identify their weaknesses and develop effective strategies to improve their language skills and examination performance. I place strong emphasis on answering techniques, structured writing, critical thinking and regular practice, enabling students to approach examinations with confidence. I also help students develop deeper comprehension and stronger argumentative writing by teaching them how to evaluate information, construct logical arguments and communicate their ideas clearly. My goal is not only to help students achieve better grades but also to cultivate lifelong communication and critical thinking skills that will benefit them beyond the classroom.
