My teaching philosophy focuses on developing genuine conceptual understanding rather than rote memorisation. Mathematics and Physics are subjects that require logical reasoning and problem-solving, and I guide students to understand the underlying principles before applying them to increasingly challenging questions. Students receive comprehensive topic notes summarising key concepts, common misconceptions, examination strategies, and carefully selected practice questions designed to reinforce learning. Rather than simply demonstrating solutions, I encourage students to attempt questions independently before guiding them through the thought process. Through targeted questioning and step-by-step discussions, students learn how to analyse problems, identify the most effective solution strategies, and communicate their reasoning clearly. This approach develops the critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and analytical skills that are essential for success in both the IP and A-Level system.
I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Mathematics at the National University of Singapore (NUS) after graduating with First Class Honours in Mathematics from NUS. During my JC years, I attained AAA/A for H2 Physics, H2 Mathematics, H2 Chemistry and H1 Economics, giving me a strong academic foundation and deep understanding of the Singapore A-Level curriculum. I specialise in IP, JC H1/H2 Mathematics and Physics, and have successfully guided students from a wide range of junior colleges and Integrated Programme (IP) schools. Being well-versed in the latest Cambridge syllabus and assessment requirements, I am familiar with both the content knowledge and higher-order thinking skills expected in today's exams.
